Michael J

Eight-time Country Music Association Personality of the Year Nominee, CMA and ACM Member and Country Radio Broadcaster now for over 20 years.

Casey Kasem was the guy who gave Michael J the radio bug.  As a kid, he would listen to AT40 every week and write down all the songs, their chart position and any tidbit Casey would say, while dreaming of the day he would be doing the same thing.  While in 10th grade after building a pirate radio station in his bedroom, Michael convinced the station manager at student-run Towson University to give him me a shift on the college station.

Within six months, he had a driver’s license, an FCC 3rd Class license with element 9 endorsement and was working at his first commercial radio station, WAQA-FM, 3000 watts in Grasonville, Maryland.  That was June 1979 and he’s been on the air ever since.

Since 2000, Michael's radio home is  iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel Media + Entertainment) in several positions and currently midday talent at WMZQ-FM in Washington, D.C. and afternoon talent at WPOC-FM in Baltimore, Maryland.

Additionally his nightly 7:00 pm to Midnight show is heard nationwide on over 70 radio stations and streams on mobile devices and desktops via the iHeartRadio "Country Roads" channel.
