A BLAST FROM THE PAST!
Lately, I’ve been recommending this book to quite a few people who have never heard of it before.
This gem written by a physician who turned to writing early in his career required his publisher to keep his book always in hardback, so that readers would take it seriously. This stroke of genius is probably more relevant today then when it was first printed.
With all the uncertainty of working in the media today, this brilliant, little ninety-four-page work of art, still has many of today's answers and is tax deductible and available on Kindle, too!
I used to call it the 20-20 book. It cost 20 dollars and takes 20 minutes to read.
Written in 1998, Who Moved My Cheese? was a surprise sensation. Published two years after the Telecommunications Act of 1996, it was the last year of Seinfeld, Steve Jobs thought different and brought back Apple, Titanic was the highest grossing film of all time (up to then) and Britney Spears was the hottest recording artist in America.
Who Moved My Cheese? sold more than 26 million copies worldwide in 37 languages and was on the New York Times Business Bestseller list for over five years.
Back then, it was recommended reading for Proctor & Gamble, General Electric, Southwest Airlines and an enlightened few in the media industry.
Dr. Spencer Johnson’s timely parable with seemingly Jedi inspiration, Cheese? was a masterpiece then and applicable even more now.
